Comprehensive Action Plan Survey - Round #2

From The Capital Region Planning Commission (CRPC):

The Capital Region Planning Commission (CRPC) will conduct outreach activities throughout five parishes to gather feedback for the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan aimed at making our streets and roads safer for all users.

In this second round of public outreach, CRPC staff will be at public libraries and community events to receive comments on top crash locations as well as systemwide and behavioral trends impacting safety in each of the parishes.

The plan’s goal is to help prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries for all transportation users in the region, including motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit riders in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston and West Baton Rouge Parishes.

Citizens are also invited to take a five-minute online survey to provide input on the plan at: www.crpcla.org/survey.

Through the first round of public outreach conducted in late 2023, the Safety Action Plan identified community priorities on a wide array of risk factors related to transportation fatalities and injury. The public will now have an opportunity to provide input on specific locations and strategies identified to address safety concerns.

This Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan is funded with a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration. The completion of the plan will allow the parishes to apply for implementation of capital construction grant funds through the federal discretionary grant program.

The deadline to take the survey is March 10, 2024.

To learn more about the Safety Action Plan, visit www.crpcla.org/survey. A schedule of outreach activities by parish follows.
