|
We are deeply disappointed by the governor’s veto of HB 423, a bill critical to addressing Louisiana’s insurance crisis and fostering a more competitive market. The legislation represented a necessary step toward stabilizing exorbitant insurance costs that burden our trucking industry, hinder economic growth and force truckers to relocate to neighboring states. Our lack of focus on addressing lawsuit abuse is in fact economic development for our neighboring states. Despite this setback, we remain committed to advocating for reforms that will reduce insurance expenses, promote fair legal practices, and support the businesses that are vital to our state's economy. We urge action to resolve these pressing issues for the benefit of all Louisiana citizens and businesses.

2024 LMTA Annual Convention: The LMTA Room Block is SOLD OUT |

Join us for our 2024 LMTA Annual Convention, July 25-27, 2024, at The Grand Hotel Gulf Resort & Spa in Point Clear, AL.
This year's convention will feature keynotes from industry professionals and Louisiana public officials. We will also have dedicated sessions on transportation updates, trucking research, federal and state legislative updates as well as key membership meetings.
VENUE & BOOKING The are no rooms left under the LMTA room block. There are rooms still available at the hotels regular rate.
Please Note: The LMTA will remove any guest from the room block who is not registered for the convention. Removal from the block may result in an increase in rate or cancelation of reservation by the hotel.

2024 Bill Clark Memorial Golf Tournament | July 25, 2024 |
|
The 2024 Bill Clark Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, July 25 at the Azalea Course on the Lakewood Golf Course in Fairhope, AL. The Tournament will take place before the 2024 LMTA Annual Convention in Point Clear, AL, and requires additional registration.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided alongside the chance to win door prizes and compete in the $50,000 Shoot Out Competition. Prizes will also be given to the player closest to the pin and the competitor with the longest drive.
This year's event is organized by Tournament Director Tim Ordoyne and is a fundraising opportunity for the LMTA. Sponsorships are also available for the event and can be purchased online or by contacting Tim (timo@peterbiltofla.com).

CSI Litigation Psychology Course | July 12-13
|
|
LMTA members and industry stakeholders are invited to attend a CSI Litigation Psychology Course hosted by The Mississippi and Louisiana Loggers. This informative seminar on litigation and witness training will be conducted by Bill Kanasky Jr., Ph.D., and Mansoor Khaleeluddin.

Louisiana State Police Offer Safety and Compliance Services for Carriers and Drivers |
|
Louisiana State Police (LSP) are offering safety and compliance services for carriers and professional drivers. This is a great opportunity for truckers and their drivers to understand what LSP are looking for on the highway. LSP will come to your facility and train your crew. Please note: this is not a class. Contact Brady Johnson at brady.johnson@la.gov if you would like LSP to perform one of these services for you. Services are provided across the state and are open to fleets of all sizes. No fleet is too big or too small!
