Randy Guillot and Renee Amar Respond to Governor Landry's Veto of Legal Reform Bill

We would like to inform you about a recent article from Transport Topics featuring insights from our Executive Director and former ATA President Randy Guillot, regarding Governor Landry's veto of a significant legal reform bill.

 

Randy Guillot expressed his strong disappointment, calling the veto a direct affront to businesses in Louisiana, especially the trucking industry. 

 

Guillot said, “I’m extremely disappointed — not only in the veto, but in the fact that the governor vetoed it. It is a direct slap in the face of all business in Louisiana, including — front-and-center — the trucking industry. It is a one-sided opinion, and absolutely conflicts his known statements. It’s a complete plaintiff bar narrative. It’s wrong.”

 

Renee Amar highlighted the challenging insurance environment in the state, with only two companies providing quotes for carriers and just one for agricultural haulers, making the situation increasingly unsustainable.
