LMTA Partners with Wreaths Across America

We are proud to share that the LMTA has signed up to participate in the Wreaths Across America Virtual Convoy! Through this effort, we will be working to fill (virtually) one trailer load of sponsored veterans’ wreaths to send to Arlington National Cemetery this December. This is approximately 5,000 wreaths which will be laid on the final resting place of service members from our state. With each $17 wreath sponsored, we will receive $5 back from WAA.

Many of you have expressed you would like to be involved in the WAA mission but aren’t able to provide transportation, fuel, or drivers, so this is your opportunity to support our nations veterans and their families at a time of year when its most meaningful. If you have volunteered in the past – thank you and please stay engaged, sponsor a wreath, and encourage others to do the same. The Virtual Convoy program will allow LMTA to engage our workforce and families in this important mission, receive media attention for the association and earn revenue as well.

Help us reach our goal!

Sponsor a wreath(s) now by clicking on our state association group page hereYou must sponsor your wreaths through this site or LMTA will not receive the credit or the $5 back.

Send our group page link to your workforce, vendors, family, and friends and encourage them to get involved. If they all sponsored just one wreath, our goal should easily be reached!

Louisiana OMV Experiences Large Data Breach

Officials believe all with LA state-issued licenses, IDs or registrations had info compromised.

Recently the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness shared the news that a massive data breach to the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles third party MOVEit software.

During a recent news briefing, officials noted that at this time, they believe “all Louisianans with a state-issued driver’s license, ID or car registrations likely had data compromised.” At this time, the LMTA is under the assumption that it includes CDLs. Until informed otherwise, we advise our members and the industry to take the same precautions outlined by the Governor’s Office.

Information that was breached include names, addresses, social security numbers, birthdates, height, eye color, driver's license numbers, vehicle registration and handicap placard information.

Officials are urging driver's license holders to take the following steps to safeguard their identity.

  1. Prevent unauthorized new account activity and monitor credit
  2. Change all your passwords
  3. Protect your tax refund, returns with the Internal Revenue Service
  4. Check your Social Security benefits

Below are additional resources and information on the breach:
