Louisiana Emergency Declaration | Severe Weather

Active December 13, 2022 - January 12, 2023

After a series of deadly storms ripped through the northwest corner of Louisiana Tuesday night, Governor John Bel Edwards has declared a State of Emergency.

 

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), six possible tornadoes struck Caddo, Union, Rapides, Madison, East Carroll and Franklin Parishes. We encourage all to remain safe and vigilant as the weather moves through the area. Below is a list of emergency resources for your convenience.

 

Members of the public should monitor local news outlets for weather updates and follow guidance from local officials.

Travelers can also find information regarding road closures by visiting the 511 Traveler Information website at www.511la.org or by dialing 511 from their telephone and saying the route or region about which they are seeking information.
Out-of-state travelers can access the system by calling 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511).
