Highlights From Our Legislative Dispatch Event |
|
|
We recently wrapped up a productive week where we covered significant ground during our first Legislative Dispatch. We completed 8 visits, spending a total 15 hours on the road and covering 896 miles. Over the week, we met with 27 candidates and lawmakers to discuss pressing issues for truckers in Louisiana.
Thank you to all the members who joined us for our Legislative Dispatch visits last week. We also appreciated the Louisiana State Police for joining in on these visits to add their advice and expertise to the discussions.
We extend our appreciation to the candidates and lawmakers who dedicated their time to hear about the issues impacting the trucking industry-lawsuit abuse, workforce, and regulations.
The biggest THANK YOU goes out to our members who took the time to host these visits. Autonomous Truck Survey |

We greatly value your input and invite you to participate in a crucial survey on the acceptance of Autonomous Trucks in logistics, with a special focus on the Gulf Coast region. The survey will take approximately 10-minutes and can be accessed online by clicking the link below.
Your feedback is essential to advancing our understanding of this emerging technology's impact on logistics in the Gulf Coast, and your involvement in this survey is highly appreciated.
Once the research findings are ready, we will share with you a report summarizing key takeaways from the study. Additionally, LMTA will be acknowledged when the research findings are presented at conferences and published.

2023 Top Industry Issues Survey |
|
We kindly ask our members to take a few minutes and complete The American Transportation Research Institute’s 2023 Top Industry Issues Survey. The annual survey asks trucking industry stakeholders to rank the top issues of concern for the industry along with potential strategies for addressing each issue. If enough respondents from Louisiana take the survey, we will receive Louisiana’s top issues. Otherwise, they are national top issues.

I-110 S Closed Due to Fire in Harrison County |
|
The Mississippi Department of Transportation has released the following traffic advisory: ROAD CLOSURE All lanes of I-110 S. between Bayview Ave. (Exit 1-D) and U.S. 90 in Harrison County are closed due to damage from a sustained fire. The closure will remain in place until repairs to the bridge are complete. Southbound traffic on I-110 is being diverted onto Bayview Ave. (Exit 1-D). |

DOTD Reminder - Weight Limit on US 84 Bridge | Above 5 Tons
|
|
A reminder from the DOTD that the US 84 bridge near Tullos is open only to vehicular traffic with a 5-ton load rating. DOTD is asking those above the weight limit to find an alternate route.
DOTD appreciates your patience while crews perform bridge repairs.
