Seeking Interest: LMTA Representative Appointment to Louisiana Emergency Response Commission

The Governor’s Office is currently finalizing appointments to the Louisiana Emergency Response Commission (LERC) under the revised Executive Order attached. The updated order now includes a designated representative from the Louisiana Motor Transport Association (LMTA) on the Commission.

 

The Louisiana Emergency Response Commission plays an important role in statewide hazardous materials planning, emergency preparedness, and coordination between industry and government agencies. The Commission meets quarterly, with the next meeting scheduled for June 10.

 

LMTA is seeking recommendations and expressions of interest from members who may be interested in serving as LMTA’s representative on this Commission.

 

Ideal candidates may have experience or interest in:

  • Safety and compliance
  • Hazardous materials transportation
  • Emergency response planning
  • Environmental or operational safety
  • Coordination with state or local emergency agencies
