YOUR TESTIMONY IS NEEDED: Senate Action on Insurance Reform NEXT WEEK!
|
The fight for real reform now moves to the Louisiana Senate—and this is where the challenge gets steeper. Next week, the Senate Judiciary A Committee will begin hearing key bills aimed at reducing lawsuit abuse and lowering insurance costs—critical issues for every Louisiana trucking business.
Unlike the House, the Senate does not have as many natural allies for our industry. That’s why your voice is urgently needed. Testifying in person helps lawmakers see the real impact of a broken system on small businesses, family fleets, and working people.
📍 Judiciary A Committee Hearing 🗓 Tuesday, May 13, 2025 🕘 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM* (Hainkel Room) *End time subject to change based on the agenda.

Bad Bill Mashup: HB 576 Provisions Sneak into HB 148
|

Sponsored by Rep. Brian Glorioso (R-Slidell), the amendment overhauls how the Insurance Commissioner can disapprove rate filings, removing definitions for competitive and non-competitive markets and eliminating the transparent, objective benchmarks currently used to evaluate market competitiveness.
