LMTA Partners with Advocacy Groups to Fight Human Trafficking Special thanks to our members for joining us for the New Orleans Coalition Build
|
Thanks to L&B, Safeway, D&J and Freedom Trucks for participating in the human trafficking seminar on December 5, co-hosted by Truckers Against Trafficking and the Governor's Office on Human Trafficking Prevention.
Truckers are the eyes and ears on the road so are a crucial piece in recognizing this crime and ultimately eradicating it.
We're thrilled to partner with Truckers Against Trafficking and the Governor's office of Human Trafficking Prevention! Together, we're uniting our efforts to combat human trafficking and protect the most vulnerable in our communities.
Through this collaboration, we provide essential training for truck drivers to recognize the signs of trafficking and empower them to take action. With the trucking industry as the eyes and ears on the road, we can make a real difference!
Join us in this mission to create safer highways and support the fight against human trafficking.

|
The LMTA is proud to announce that Brad Nelson, 2024-2025 President of the Board, has been appointed to serve on the American Transportation Research Institute’s (ATRI) Research Advisory Committee (RAC). Among other activities, ATRI’s RAC is responsible for annually identifying the top research priorities on the national level for the trucking industry. The American Transportation Research Institute is a national industry leader of transportation and freight-focused research.
“It is an incredible honor to join the ATRI’s Research Advisory Committee,” said Nelson. “I am excited to bring my perspective as a trucking business owner, as well as an LMTA officer, to help guide this critical research.” Nelson first became involved with LMTA to advocate for anti-indemnification legislation, demonstrating his commitment to protecting and advancing the interests of Louisiana’s trucking industry. Over the years, he has served in various leadership roles, including Vice President for the Board’s Bulk Carriers Division and as a member of the LMTA Executive Committee. In 2024, Nelson was elected by the association’s membership to serve as 2024-2025 President of the Board.
