2026 Truck Driving Championships - Volunteers Urgently Needed & Upcoming Planning Meetings!
|
We’re gearing up for the 2026 Louisiana Truck Driving Championships, June 19–20 at the Cajundome in Lafayette, and while driver registration is now closed, we urgently need volunteers to help make this event a success.
To help us properly plan and staff the event, we are asking interested volunteers to sign up in advance. The volunteer form is intended as a questionnaire to help us gauge interest, experience levels, and staffing needs. It is not a mandatory commitment, and additional details and assignments will be shared closer to the event.
The Louisiana Truck Driving Championships is one of the premier events in our industry, celebrating the professionalism, commitment, and excellence of Louisiana’s drivers. Since competitors cannot volunteer, we rely heavily on safety and operations professionals to help run, judge, and set up the competition alongside the Louisiana State Police and industry leaders.
Whether you are a longtime TDC volunteer or have never attended before, we encourage you to get involved. It is a fun and rewarding experience that builds camaraderie across the trucking industry while supporting and recognizing our drivers.
Volunteers receive:
- Official TDC T-shirt and cap
- Opportunity to earn NATMI safety hours
- Hands-on involvement in one of the industry’s most respected events
- Networking with safety professionals and law enforcement partners
If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the volunteer registration form below:

Election Information - TruckPAC Endorses Judge Billy Burris
|
Early voting is underway for Louisiana’s Saturday, May 16 election and continues through Saturday, May 9 (excluding Sunday, May 3), from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM daily. Of particular importance to Louisiana’s trucking industry is the race for the Louisiana Supreme Court.
TruckPAC, the Louisiana Motor Transport Association’s political action committee, has endorsed Judge William “Billy” Burris, citing his commitment to interpreting the law as written and applying it fairly and consistently. Supreme Court decisions directly impact Louisiana’s legal climate, liability exposure, insurance costs, and business environment.
This election also includes several statewide constitutional amendments and important election changes. Louisiana’s new closed-party primary system is now in effect for certain races, including U.S. Senate, Louisiana Supreme Court, PSC, and BESE races.
Only registered Republicans and voters listed as no-party may participate in this primary. No-party voters may select which party ballot to vote but must remain with that party through any related runoff.
Additionally, Louisiana’s U.S. House races have been suspended following federal court action regarding congressional district maps, though all other races will proceed as scheduled.
- Election Day: Saturday, May 16, 2026
- Polls Open: 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Early Voting: May 2–9 (excluding Sunday, May 3)
