Certified Director or Supervisor of Safety (CDS/CSS) Certification Program
The Certified Director or Supervisor of Safety (CDS/CSS) program is an intensive, multi-day professional development opportunity designed for transportation safety professionals seeking advanced training and national certification. This program includes two comprehensive courses held back-to-back, followed by a certification exam the next morning.
Participants will first complete Motor Fleet Safety Basics, a two-day “Fleet Safety 101” course focused on the effective implementation of safety-related policies and procedures. This foundational course is followed by Managing Motor Fleet Safety Programs, a two-day program designed for current and aspiring safety directors, providing the vision and practical skills needed to manage a successful motor fleet safety program.
The program concludes with the Certified Director of Safety (CDS) Exam or Certified Safety Supervisor (CSS) Exam, a half-day examination session. Within 60 days of passing the exam, participants must complete an online certification application detailing their work background and performance.

- Exam Day: 8:00 a.m. – Noon
This certification program is ideal for professionals responsible for developing, implementing, or overseeing motor fleet safety programs within their organizations.
