These documents outline certain waivers to state and federal rules and regulations for those directly aiding in emergency preparedness or disaster relief. We advise that you print these documents and give them to every driver facilitating hurricane preparedness.

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD)

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) released an Emergency Order from Secretary Donahue. This includes limited exemptions for the transportation industry assisting in emergency preparedness. 

With the threat of severe weather and heavy rainfall that may impact areas of the state, DOTD reminds motorists to take extra precautions should traveling be necessary.

Louisiana State Police

Colonel Robert P. Hodges, Superintendent of Louisiana State Police and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Public Safety, has declared that a regional emergency exists which justifies certain exemptions from Parts 390 through 399 of Title 49, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

This emergency declaration is in response to Hurricane Francine.

Office of the Governor

Governor Jeff Landry signed a State of Emergency Executive Order in preparation for Hurricane Francine.

The storm is developing over the Western Gulf of Mexico and is forecast to become a hurricane as it tracks toward the Gulf Coast. It is expected to bring four to eight inches of heavy rainfall across the southern part of the state, potential tornadoes, and damaging winds.
