The 2026 Louisiana Truck Driving Championships will take place Friday, June 19 – Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana. Testing, pretrip, the course and the awards banquet will all be held on the Cajundome's campus.

Competitor registration for this year's Championships has closed. If you were interested in this year's competition, consider volunteering this year to get a unique view of the event.

If you are planning to attend Saturday's Course Competition in ANY CAPACITY, please read our notice regarding tailgating & spectator areas. Tailgating, onsite cooking, and outside catering will NOT be permitted this year.

Coming to watch Saturday’s Course Competition? Please review the information below before attending.

Course Seating & Viewing Areas

General and company seating sections will be available inside the Cajundome for drivers, families, and guests with excellent views of the competition course. Seating is open and available throughout the day.

For safety reasons, only approved volunteers, event personnel, and competing drivers will be permitted on the competition floor at any time. All spectators and guests must remain in designated viewing and seating areas.

Tailgating, Outside Food & Cooking

Please note that tailgating, onsite cooking, and outside catering will NOT be permitted at this year’s Louisiana Truck Driving Championships due to Cajundome venue policies regarding outside food and beverages.

Concessions will be available for purchase onsite throughout the event.

Company Banners & Signs

Participating companies are welcome to display banners and signs inside the Cajundome. Banner placement must not block walkways, spectator views, safety signage, or event operations. Closer to the week prior to the event, LMTA will release approved banner placement locations and additional setup details inside the Cajundome.

We encourage companies to show their support for their drivers and teams throughout the Championships weekend.

Volunteer Information:

We’re gearing up for the 2026 Louisiana Truck Driving Championships, June 19–20 at the Cajundome in Lafayette, and while driver registration is now closed, we urgently need volunteers to help make this event a success. 

The Louisiana Truck Driving Championships is one of the premier events in our industry, celebrating the professionalism, commitment, and excellence of Louisiana’s drivers. Since competitors cannot volunteer, we rely heavily on safety and operations professionals to help run, judge, and set up the competition alongside the Louisiana State Police and industry leaders.

Whether you are a longtime TDC volunteer or have never attended before, we encourage you to get involved. It is a fun and rewarding experience that builds camaraderie across the trucking industry while supporting and recognizing our drivers. 

Volunteers receive:

• Official TDC T-shirt and cap
• Opportunity to earn NATMI safety hours
• Hands-on involvement in one of the industry’s most respected events
• Networking with safety professionals and law enforcement partners

There is a mandatory Volunteer Meeting at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 18 in the Cajundome Arena. During this meeting volunteer jobs, shirts and hats will be distributed. 

Planning Meetings:

Championships planning is managed between LMTA's Safety Management Council (SMC) and LMTA staff on behalf of the LMTA Foundation. Bi-Weekly virtual meetings are held via Zoom at 11:00 AM. The meeting dates are as followed:

• June 9: 11:00 am

One final virtual meeting will take place after June 9 but before the championships. Details will be shared when available.

You do not need to be a member of LMTA's SMC to join in these planning calls!

Dress Code:

Competition Attire – Drivers
All competitors will receive a complimentary event T-shirt to wear during the competition. Drivers are also welcome to wear their normal company attire or daily workwear if preferred.

Please remember that proper workwear, including appropriate footwear, is required to compete. For safety reasons, flip-flops, sandals, slippers, or other open-toed footwear are strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification from the competition.

Volunteer Attire
Volunteers will receive an official volunteer T-shirt and are asked to wear it during the event so they can be easily identified by participants and attendees.

We encourage volunteers to dress comfortably while still wearing appropriate workwear and footwear suitable for an active event environment.

Awards Banquet Attire
“Sundays Best” attire is encouraged for all banquet attendees. Competitors are welcome to coordinate with their companies regarding any preferred company attire or branded apparel for the evening.

We are excited to announce that our official room block for the Louisiana Truck Driving Championships is now open! The Hilton Garden Inn Lafayette/Cajundome is the closest hotel to the Cajundome, offering unbeatable convenience for your stay.

The room block with special rate for the The Hilton Garden Inn Lafayette/Cajundome has CLOSED. We encourage those coming in to town for the event to book directly through Hilton's website.
