LMTA Foundation Reveals 2026 Louisiana Fleet Safety Award Winners

Baton Rouge, La. — June 25, 2026  — The LMTA Foundation, in partnership with Great West Casualty Company, recognized Louisiana's safest trucking companies during the 2026 Louisiana Fleet Safety Awards, honoring carriers with outstanding safety records and an unwavering commitment to highway safety.

The awards highlight the trucking companies that achieved the lowest accident frequency ratios within their respective mileage and operational categories, recognizing excellence in safety, professionalism, and strong company safety programs.

"The LMTA Foundation is proud to recognize these companies for their commitment to safety and excellence," said Renee Amar, executive director of the LMTA Foundation. "These carriers have demonstrated that investing in safety, training, and professionalism protects not only their employees, but everyone traveling on Louisiana's highways."

The awards were presented during the LMTA Foundation's Truck Safety Awards Ceremony, held June 20, 2026, at the Cajundome Event Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. The ceremony was conducted in conjunction with the 2026 Louisiana Truck Driving Championships Awards Ceremony, celebrating Louisiana's top professional truck drivers and the trucking industry's continued commitment to safety.

Special Awards

The 2026 Most Improved Award was presented to Lard Oil Company of Denham Springs for its significant improvements in fleet safety performance and DOT accident frequency.

The 2026 President's Award (Crystal Truck), the LMTA Foundation's highest fleet safety honor, was presented to Freedom Trucks of America, led by Brad Nelson, for its outstanding commitment to safety and excellence in hazardous materials transportation.

The LMTA Foundation also recognized two outstanding law enforcement officers for their commitment to highway safety and partnership with the trucking industry.
